Bourn windmill, near Cambridge

3"x3" pen and lumocolour pencil

Bourn windmill, near Cambridge, is one of the oldest postmills in the country – dating back to around 1650. Today it doesn’t work, but can be rotated on its post, is weather proof, and its machinery in place. This afternoon (Sunday) was the last Open Day of the year and I was able to see inside, and start a watercolour of the interior. I had little choice because it was raining. I will post the watercolour when I have it finished. In the meantime here is a little sketch to get my bearings.
