Putney Bridge, London, night

Oil 16"x12"

My wife, son David and his flatmates left me on the pavement with my oil gear and a pint while they retreated to the heat and light of the bar. I was painting under orange street lamps which completely killed the colour. I had to guess my colour mixes even though it was helpful to know where colours were on my palette. Intended yellow came out orange, green a sort of brown and dark blue a mid blue-grey. What you see above has had a good tweak in the studio. In particular darkening the sky to make the floodlit bridge stand out. Tomorrow I will post a watercolour of the same bridge painted early morning. Interested onlooker took details of my website.
