On the edge of Thetford Forest

Done yesterday late afternoon. The weather had been dreary all day, and as I sat down to do this it started to brighten and suddenly the sun broke out low in the evening sky behind me. After the first block-in the sky in the picture clouded over which looked even better for the colour balance and contrast so I changed it before progressing. About an hour’s work, this study deserves a full painting. The photograph below gives you an idea of the possibilities
