Afghanistan 1

Well, I’ve just got back from two weeks teaching art students and teachers in Kabul. This was something else! Up nearly every day at 6am. Struggle through the traffic to start teaching at 8.30am, and then usually another session in the afternoon. I tried to post out there but it didn’t work so I’ll post here day by day in more or less the same order. I would like to have painted more for myself but the priority was the students.

But no teaching on day one, so here’s my first sketch from the roof of the house where we were staying:

Kabul is at 6000′ above sea level, still quite hot during the day and very very dry. So watercolour dried incredibly quickly.
