Rain at Box Hill, Bath

Rain soaked watercolour - 5"x8"

I was determined to put brush to paper at some point in the day when I was visiting my sister near Bath a couple of weeks ago. I was using my Moleskine notebook, and the weather was looking threatening. An then it poured down – I had no option but to close the notebook on my wet sketch – I wasn’t even near the car. So I walked into a nearby coppice beyond which I could hear cows which I assume were also moaning about the rain. So, under the relative shelter of some trees on the edge of the wood I had a go at sketching the field of cattle. As I did, the weather started to cheer up..
