In Austria on the way to Romania – day 2

Ashacsh on the Danube

Ashacsh on the Danube

We motored a long way today – 350 miles. Burning hot, so it was no surprise that the heavens opened as we ate goulash by the Danube not far from Linz. This sketch was in the last of the daylight. Very quiet. River very still. Tomorrow we must get well into Hungary. I’ve realised that although I have brought my oil painting pochade kit, I have not brought a carrier for wet paintings. So maybe its going to be a sketching and watercolour only trip.
