I started painting in around 1984. Watercolour painting appealed to me because it is compact, easy to carry the gear and the materials are quite inexpensive. Just about every painting I’ve ever done is in front of the subject . I just cant get along with using photos, because the magic is in representing 3-D in 2-D. In the last five years I’ve mostly painted in oils. Anyway, this blog shows my sketches and paintings AS I DO THEM. So if I don’t do anything for a week, I won’t post anything. If every day, I’ll post a picture every day. One thing I can say is that mostly I paint fast, the result of learning to paint at the same time as bringing up 3 children. Asyou will have gathered, I don’t have the luxury of painting for a living. It has to fit in with a busy life. As I go along I’ll pass along some of the things I’ve learned so far.
