Painting at open studio

Not a lot of people coming top view at the moment. Maybe its the tennis at Wimbledon on TV. Gives me a chance to paint in the garden. I’ll post again today add out progresses

Lovely….you could have stopped right here and had a wonderful painting.

That being the case, I do hope I don’t spoil it next Saturday! Thanks for your encouraging comment Stephanie! I often overwork paintings – when is enough?

I think overwork every painting I do. I think people won’t “get it” unless it’s “finished”. Know what I mean?

Hi Stephanie. Well, it depends on what you mean by overwork. I don’t think you overwork your flower paintings which you clearly love doing. I tend to overwork when I’m getting frustrated and tired, and then the best catharsis is to scrape off and start again. Actually this can sometimes be the quickest route to finishing the painting.
